Saying Goodbye is not an easy thing to do. Saying goodbye the second time around is even a bit more heartbreaking than the first. You see my son left for College a couple of weeks ago, for the second time.Although I’m thrilled, saying goodbye, the second time around was harder than the first. He needs me less and is more self-sufficient this time around. Which is great, but as a parent its hard to accept. He also was more aware of what he needed to pack ( really needed) for his dorm. we found our self’s needing a bigger vehicle one in which we could load all in one trip. We were so grateful to Toyota for sending us the beautiful and spacious 2106 Tundra 1794 Edition so I can help him move back to College.
The Tundra is very spacious with a very, very roomy interior, equipped with XM Sirus Satellite Radio, dual zone climate control , cooling and heating seats leather trimmed seats and lumbar support. You can seat three people in front if needed and five in the back. So to say the least it s very spacious. Which was perfect for us as the morning of the move it began raining ( I know, what are the odds? , it never rains in Phoenix).
We loaded the back cabin and away we went as he had to be in line at 6 a.m for move in. We arrived in style as the Tundra is visually captivating first off with its gorgeous color in sunset bronze mica and its power attitude superb safety features like its 8 airbags, blind spot monitor, anti-lock brake technology, electronic brake force distribution and smart start technology to name a few we felt safe driving in the rain.
After I took my son back to College I decided rather than staying home and being sad, with the Tundra as my transportation mode I would attend the kick-off of Arizona Restaurant Week which is held September 16th -26th ( This statewide affair offers foodies a wealth of dining opportunities and the chance to get outside their own neighborhood and try something new for a great price and help our local restaurants which employee great people ) so off we went to our first stop Cafe ZuZu inside Valley Ho in Downtown Scottsdale. The Hotel’s decor transports you to the era of glam and glitz, its culinary creations to heaven.
I love soup, I really do! so to begin with a Roasted Acorn Squash Soup ( house made cinnamon marshmallows and candied pecans) was perfect! and trust me on this you will love it!
We also were tasted the Delicious Buffalo Mozzarella ( a mix of baby wild arugula, heirloom tomatoes, shaved red onions, grilled levain bread, balsamic reduction and basil vinaigrette ) and lastly the succulent Seared Wagyu Beef (truffle and yuzu mignonette, shaved Parmesan and radish salad) my favorite for its mix of such harmonious flavors.
Our Next stop was the majestic Royal Palms Resort and Spa and its celebrated T. Cooks were we were we had our second course of the evening Pan Roasted Branzino ( shishilto peppers, tomato jam, fingerling potatoes, kalamata olive aioli) delicious Wild Arugula & Truffle Tremor Ravioli ( black tuscan kale, celery root, eggplant, romesco sauce) and Braised Natural Beef Shortrib ( baby fennel, cipollini onion, ricotta gnocchi, aged balsamic ) were delightful and beautifully presented with a unique blend of flavors are sure to be palate-pleasing.
And the Sweet Finally at – Coup des Tartes with the irresistible Banana Brulee a mix of heavenly fit-for-the gods coconut pastry cream, sliced banana, delicate chocolate crust this exquisite dessert will make your evening, I promise.
I also invite you to dine at participating Restaurants during the week of September 16th – 26th to learn more , full menus please visit arizonarestaurantweek.com
I’m extremely thankful to Toyota for providing the Tundra to take my son back to College. I invite you to test drive the Tundra its built to handle anything with its powerful V8.
Until next time,
Sandra
