I arrived in Santa Monica full of excitement as I could not wait to see Volkswagen’s new addition to its line up.
My accommodations for this trip were at the beautiful upscale Shutters on the Beach this oceanfront hotel is perfect, as your in walking distance to Venice Beach and the historic Santa Monica Pier also home to Pacific Park.
My room was a beautiful Studio King Room was just steps from the pool deck with my own private patio to sip coffee in the morning as you marvel at the sunrise.
While I awaited for Volkswagen’s gran reveal I took a 15 minute bike ride along the pristine coastline to Venice Beach as the overcast morning called for me to get out and explore.
Our hospitality hub was the oceanfront serene retreat Hotel Casa Del Mar which offers a variety of exquisite cuisine I highly recommend for you to indulge.
As the sunset set up on us we gathered to walk to the Historic Santa Monica Pier, where Volkswagen debuted its new addition the 2018 Atlas. This Joie de vivre SUV will serve as the launch pad for what Volkswagen hopes to be its come back in to the American market.
The Atlas has room for 7 passengers, a V6 engine and all wheel drive this SUV is designed with the american consumer in mind. It will be built here in the USA, in Chattanooga , TN to be precise. The Atlas will be available with Apple Car Play and signature safety features such as automatic post-collision braking system, lane-departing warning, blind -spot monitor, automatic emergency braking system to list a few.
It is scheduled to debut in the Spring. And I cant wait to drive it along Route 66.
Before heading out to catch my flight , I managed to squeeze in another activity and headed to Pacific Park home of the only solar powered ferries wheel. I loved the ride, as it provides you with the opportunity to view the oceans splendor and beautiful coastline.
Hope you got road trip inspired with the 2018 Atlas, because life is a big as you make it!
Until next time,
Sandra
