We celebrate International Women’s Day at the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo Experience

March has ended, coming in like the proverbial lion but going out like a wounded lamb. But it didn’t leave me unscathed. I am recovering from covid that I caught in Las Vegas. The Illness didn’t hinder the fantastic experience we had at the Ford Bronco/Raptor Off-Roadeo in Nevada. Without further ado, saddle up and move ‘em out! (Cough, cough!)

The off-road life
Ford, a brand that embraces diversity, recently hosted a unique event on International Women’s Day, during Women’s History Month. This special event, held at the Ford Bronco/Raptor Off-Roadeo facility near Las Vegas, honored and educate female auto enthusiasts about the care and feeding of their new Broncos. The event stood out for its range of off-road activities and trails, all designed to celebrate women’s passion for cars and the off-road lifestyle.

The event was a deep-dive learning experience featuring informative talks, engaging workshops and thrilling test drives. Though they concentrated on the Bronco the skills we learned are easily adaptable to other off-road vehicles, too. These activities are not only aimed at boosting the confidence and passion of new and prospective Bronco owners, but also at the outdoors, conservation, and knowledge among the participants.

The Bronco Off-Roadeo experience, with its exciting and challenging trails, tests your nerves and eventually, leaves a sense of accomplishment. And the best part? You’ll get to learn the functionality of all those “darn buttons” on your Bronco dashboard.

A Repurposed Camp
The 1,100 acre Bronco / Raptor camp formerly served as a Boy Scout camp nestled at the foot of Mt. Potosi. It’s surrounded by a lake and offers a serene and immersive experience right from the start. A hidden haven, it is far from the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip and includes secluded trails, rocky washes, and ever-changing trails. It’s a paradise for outdoor adventurers.

The camp provides various activities such as Spotting & Line Selection, where you essentially walk the trail first to find the best lines through it. You are also instructed on Journey Essentials, Vehicle Set-Up and Driving Dynamics. Other crucial lessons included Off-Road Recovery Techniques, Driving Tips & Technology, and Tread Lightly! principles. And just for fun, there was an Off-Roading Obstacle Course!

Day One begins with a warm welcome from the all-female instructor team. The busy day is divided into five blocks: Bronco History & Brand, Ground School, Sluice Box, ORX Training Course, and Trail Drives. My most memorable moments on the trail were driving up to The Overlook and three-wheeling on The Whole Enchilada.

After conquering challenging courses, we nourished our bodies with food and treated ourselves to s’mores while overlooking the beauty of snow-capped mountains. We even did a little shopping. Two boutiques were on site, where we indulged in the latest in Bronco swag.

The Bronco and Raptor Off-Roadeo allowed us to embrace adventure, share in the laughter, and vocalize our dreams. It was the perfect setup for our next wind-through-our-hair adventure.
